Couples Therapy is an important and widely practiced form of therapy. Its growth has been driven by the steady rise of global divorce rates, the impact of emotional and physical well‐being of adult partners and their offspring and the desire for better relationships.
There is a growing evidence base that virtual reality-based relationship therapy can lead to higher levels of satisfaction and improved outcomes compared to those who received traditional therapy.
Our research demonstrates Depict VR can be an effective tool in delivering relationship counselling and we are now seeking counsellors and therapists who would be interested in testing Depict VR in real world settings.
The core science that underpins the therapeutic approach to young people who hear voices, namely Expressed Emotion and Family Therapy, also applies to relationship therapy.
We predict Depict VR will be an effective tool to help councillors and therapists uncover relationship issues and foster constructive dialogues.
